Four Ways to Transfer Embroidery Designs to Fabrics

Do you want to include an embroidery design in your stitching work? or to transfer them on a piece of cloth, or even to cut out the patchwork pieces meticulously? Whether you are embroidering, sewing, or quilting, transferring a design to fabric is often tedious and time-consuming. However, there are methods to make it easier! Here are some efficient transferring techniques to try!

Transfer using a tracing paper

The first method is to place the pattern to be transferred onto a light source, then trace it to your fabric. For instance; copying the design on a piece of transparent oil paper or tracing paper, and tracing on the fabric. So, when you have to carry a pattern, this is the easiest and cost-effective way to get done.

Direct Drawing

To try this method, you need to have good drawing skills - depend on the design you are using. Take a look at the picture and draw the same on your fabric. Make sure to use fabric pens to get those thicker outlines.

Transfer pens

Special markers and pens are made for transferring patterns. It is enough to draw with such a pencil, place the design on the fabric and iron. The ink will be deposited on the fabric and the pattern is found on the fabric. This is particularly useful for transferring small designs.

The method is simple: Trace the outlines of the pattern / motif with the transfer pen . Then heat the fabric and place the pattern on the back of the fabric and iron. You will get a very clear pattern on the fabric and can use the design several times without having to redraw.
